Braces are more common — and more discreet — than ever. Millions wear them at every age, and within a week most people barely think about them. Modern self-ligating and Damon options are subtler still, and finishing treatment is a genuine source of pride.
Won't it hurt?
Mild discomfort after fittings and adjustments is normal. It typically lasts about 48 hours and is managed with standard over-the-counter painkillers. Our team uses gentle techniques so most patients — adults and children alike — adapt within a few days.

Braces work at almost any age. Ages 11–14 is an ideal window while the jaw is still developing, but adults straighten their teeth successfully too — healthy teeth and gums matter more than age. We confirm the right timing at your consultation.
Typically 18–24 months, depending on case complexity and how well the braces are cared for. We'll give you an exact timeline during your initial consultation.
Some mild discomfort after fittings and adjustments is normal — usually managed with over-the-counter painkillers. Our gentle approach and experienced team minimise discomfort. Most patients adapt within a few days.
We provide a simple list of foods to avoid (hard, sticky, crunchy foods like popcorn, nuts and hard sweets). Most meals — rice, pasta, soft meats, fruit — remain unaffected, so you won't feel restricted.
Usually every 6–8 weeks for adjustments. We schedule around school, work and holidays. Appointments take about 30–45 minutes.
